The Richmond café that will give you something to crow about
You know what they say; the early bird gets the Lemon and Ricotta Hotcakes with Coconut Ice Cream. But don’t let that ruffle your feathers if you’re not an early riser – they’re available all day at Karma and Crow.
If you’ve had a sticky beak inside, you’ll know that this repurposed warehouse is more than meets the eye. Renovated with their eco values kept front of mind, second-hand timber, paper straws, recyclable coffee cups and a jungle of greenery will give you something to crow about, but they’re not the only perks. Karma and Crow has also recently opened a tightly curated gift shop specialising in hand made items courtesy of local creatives. Plus there’s plenty of room to spread your wings inside; spacious table settings make for a stress-free, stroller-friendly family outing.
A menu ranging from fruity Polenta Porridge to the Buttermilk Fried Chicken Burger on Charcoal Bun that readily caters to vegetarian, vegan and gluten free diets plus lil’ people puts this café pretty high up in our pecking order. Locally roasted DeGroot and Monastery Coffee (or SA’s own Mischief Brew cold brew) will have you flying high, but you’ll be eyeing off the rest of the drinks list with its choice of juices, milkshakes and indulgent Belgian Deluxe Hot Chocolates.
Sustainable, supporting local artists and serving up some of the most scrumptious grub going around, it’s no wonder their positive vibes are attracting a growing flock of loyal locals.
Be sure to swoop in for a visit next time it’s in your flight path. You’ll be raven about Karma and Crow.
